Notes

St James, Woodhead is no-longer used as a church, but is cared for by trustees.   It stands in bleak surroundings, close to the A57 Woodhead Pass, a main road, in winter often blocked by snow.   Few people now live in the area.   The building is a reminder that, a hundred years ago, a small community did eke out a living here.
