Description

Headstones for the RILEY and SHAW families, 1850 to 1881. Two similarly shaped headstones standing shoulder to shoulder in an abvious pairing arrangement, although there is nothing on them to indicated the exact relationship between the RILEY and SHAW names.

to the Memory of Esther,
Wife of Thomas Riley,
who died March 15th 1850,
Aged 30 Years.

What is there here to court my stay,
Or hold me back from home,
While angels beckon me away,
And Jesus bids me come.

Also William their Son who
died April 27th 1861 aged 18 yr

ALSO ISAAC, SON OF THE ABOVE
THOMAS AND ESTHER RILEY,
WHO DIED FEBRUARY 17TH 1881
AGED 33 YEARS.

this life February 1st 1853,
Aged 47 Years.

Death cannot make my soul afraid,
If God be with me there,
Soft is the passage through the shade
And all the prospects fair.

who died November 11th 1861
Aged 8 Months.
