A headstone with an inscription in memory of John and Phoeby BOOTHBY and their son who all died within the space of fifteen months in 1834/5.

Inscription:

THE TRUMPET SHALL SOUND AND THE DEAD SHALL BE RAISED
SACRED
to the Memory
of

JOHN BOOTHBY
of Fox Bank in Sutton who departed this
life January 11th 1834, aged 76 years.

Also Phœby his wife, who departed this life
April 8th 1835, aged 74 years.

Death unexpected in a moments space,
Cut short our work, and clos'd our earthly race:
Reader! receive a warning from this stone!
Our end was sudden: such may be thine own.

Also Charles their son, who departed this life
April 1st 1834, aged 26 years.
