War Memorial, Haughton & Spurstow, Cheshire.

Location

On Long Lane near the junction with Hall Lane, Haughton, Nr Bunbury, Cheshire. The plaque is believed to have come from a nearby school, now demolished, on Long Lane near the junction with Capper's Lane. The school may have been in Spurstow, I am unsure of the township boundary.

Description

An old marble plaque bearing an inscription and mounted in a new, brick, plinth.

Inscription

To the Glory of God
and in honoured memory of those associated
with this School, and those residents in this
neighbourhood, who served their King & Country
in the Great War 1914-18, of whom
the eight first named gave their lives.
